Introductions - Page 5 Empty Newbie from south of Sydney

Post by VF Hardtop Thu Jun 10, 2010 6:54 am

G'day all

Thought I'd introduce myself, name is Rob

Through the day I'm a sales rep for Yellow pages and in my spare time which never seems to be much I run DRS Performance and Classics car enthusiast group www.drsperformance.com.au , I'm currently building a 1970 VF Valiant Hardtop that I'm hoping will see the streets in the later part of this year.

I live in Yanderra with is near the Southern Highlands south of Sydney, got two kids of my own plus picked up a couple more along the way as tends to happen these days.

My taste in music is a mixed bag of Rockabilly, country and love my 80's rock. I'm also a passionate conservationist, I am a wildlife rescuer with WIRES as well as part of the Fauna team at Wirrimbirra sanctuary and a director on the Stead Wildlife Research Foundation of Australia.

well thats me in a nutshell
Great site and looking forward to getting to know a few people around here

Introductions - Page 5 Empty Newbie in Newcastle

Post by jimtriumph Mon Jun 14, 2010 12:36 am

G'day all,

I've been searching high and low for a forum like this! I'm not sure about the scene here in Newcastle yet but would love to hear from anyone in the Sydney or Central Coast NSW areas.
Love my Johnny Cash, Stray Cats, Living End and BSO with a dash of psychobilly for good measure. Into tattoos and pinup art and British motorbikes.
Heading to Greazefest next month on my Trumpy so maybe we can catch up.
Like I said, great to find you guys and gals at last!

Cheers Jim

Hey falzoony,

It's a '08 Bonny T100 with more mods than my hip pocket cares to admit to!
Trying to create a cafe/street racer hybrid. Powdercoating the rims black shortly.

What's your poison as far as horsepower and type?

G'day hewey and mudflap,

Didn't know it was on until now. I'll probably go to that Berkshire park show n shine I saw in the Events forom on 15 Aug. This is my first attempt at putting a link in so I hope it works. There's been more minor mods since this including race seat, rizoma mirrors and bobbing the rear fender. It's coming along though. Heading to the Hawkesbury this morning for a ride cause the weathers so good.

Gday,

Current plans are conversion to a windowless 2 door delivery with the c pillar brought forward as the b pillar and extended doors, a 1 inch section out of the roof, 2 inch chop out of the pillars, 3 or 4 inch section out of the body, custom rear clip which will tie in to the subframe and sills and a flat floor. got a few other ideas but need to get the sils, chassis and floor sorted first and then sit back and plan it all.

Is a bare shell at the moment so just need to clear a bit of room in the shed and i can start cutting and doing some fab work.

Still deciding on motor options, leaning towards a 265 hemi at the moment but will probs go with a V8........ gotta love a V8 Twisted Evil

So yeah........................ just a little bit of work haha

Also will be slotting in to onthe projects along the side so it should be fun

Cheers

Post by Greg Tue Aug 03, 2010 12:13 pm

Hey everyone,
I found this forum last night while stumblin through the net and couldn't believe my luck. I'm into bikes more than anything and currently have an '01 sports bike.
I'm keepin my eyes open for an old Kwaka Z1 from the late '70s to mod (which as it turns out would be called a Cafe Racer, didn't even know what they were till after I started lookin online, lol).

Oh, and I love the colour scheme! After a while it makes my walls look green, hahaha.
