Steering wheel's on the wrong side
Loving the Panno though. Nowhere near enough of them around for my liking.
Cheers

I'd seen that pic of the shoebox on the truck trailer on ozrodders or the hamb, can't remember. Didn't know it was yours.
That thing is sweet. I'm fairly jealous.

Re: Our Cars - Past and Present
haha cheers guys.
me and a good mate luke have bought this as a 'joint project'. super solid car thats been sitting in a shed for 30 years, same family since 1970! has a rolled rear pan and moulded guards, frenched lights and aerials haha. i think the plan is just a simple mild custom sitting low on 13 or 14 inch steelies..comes into the shed on sat to weld the new floorpans in! we're both apprentices in panelbeating and spray painting so hopefully this wont be too costly to get it looking good. need the panelwork done before the spinner gets here so im gonna be biz-ehhh haha

broooooom
colonel sanders speed shop!
new home..
rock on haha the colour is actually really cool
ten rockabilly points for anyone who laughs at this
reversed the spring shackles before which dropped the rear a bit, after some blocks it should sit a couple inches off the ground

Re: Our Cars - Past and Present
Now you've gone and done it Sean... I'm definately jealous..... From the pics I see she's a '50 Spinner? Hidden boot hinges (not exposed like a 49) and front indicators/ park lights are on the body, not part of the grille... And by the looks of the roofline, she's a tudor sedan, not a two door coupe? And the best thing, looks like she's still running the flattie... and 3 on the tree? Either way, damn fine and I'm damn jealous! Plans for colour or are you going to leave her like that for a bit? Who did you use for the shipping? How long did it take to get here? Any dramas? Was the spinner the only thing in the container or did you pack in some more gear around it? I'm looking at trying to locate a mid to late 60's F100 (would love a 66) preferably with the Canadian 300ci 6 cylinder as a work truck for when I start my own business up soon (I'm an electrician) but everything here is so expensive, even when they're a basket case... Might put up a wanted thing on here.... Anyways, glad the spinner got to you safely, have fun with it and I look forward to seeing more pics of it soon!
Cheers!

Re: Our Cars - Past and Present
thanks brenton! its actually a 51 but has a lot of 50 stuff on it. yep 8ba and 3 on the tree, it has an overdrive but doesnt work yet. sounds good, no mufflers help! haha.
I used ron wicks@ classic chev parts, would recommend them without hesitation, took about two and a half months from purchase to my door, and that includes me getting it trucked from maryland to long beach!
plan is to tidy it all up, respray it the beige colour and drive the piss out of it! although i still want to put a y block and auto behind it..
flat batteries suck

Re: Our Cars - Past and Present
A 51 definately explains the inside boot hinges! My father in law has one (Rock N Roll Reg), I think you took a pic of it at Greazfest this year... He's got me hooked on the old flatties! If you want to get rid of the flattie, let me know first, you can never have enough spare engines layin around! The plans for it sound cool, can't wait to see it when it's done! You're starting to get quite a collection...
Re: Our Cars - Past and Present
is shipping expensive these days? about 3500 is the norm I've heard, but getting something trucked to long beach calif would have been extra as well...? Looking for a mid 60's f100 styleside 2wd for a work rig and there's nothing out there but there does seem to be some cheap stuff in the states (don't care if I have to fix stuff) and getting one from there seems like a viable option right now... unless something local pops up...
Re: Our Cars - Past and Present
shipping was around 4 grand brenton, and about 1100 to get it to long beach, which isnt bad considering it was a cross country trip!
ordering paint this week (flattened clear two pac) so i got a bit of work to do!
took a few shots on friday evening, looks plain evil out on the street!
