50 years when Buddy holly was killed in the plane crash
Hi Friends,
I am writing to say that today February 3rd is 50 years when US rocker Buddy holly along with Ritchie Valens and the Big bopper were killed in the plane crash with 21 year old pilot Roger Peterson near Clear Lake Iowa as they were on their way to Moorehead,Minnesota after finishing the gig @ Clear Lake Surf ballroom on the winter dance party tour. Buddy Holly who had hits like That'll be the day, Peggy Sue, Oh boy,Rave On,maybe baby, heart beat and others was to become an influence for people like the Beatles, the Rolling Stones, the Hollies, peter and Gordon, Bob Dylan, linda ROnstadt etc as well as pioneered stuff like being the first white rocker to write his own songs, double tracked his vocals and with the crickets pioneered the 2 guitars, bass and drums format. the music is still around today which it's still get played on the radio as well as people buying the music which as long as people who are buddy holly fans as well as fans of 50's rock'n'roll the music will be around. if you have buddy holly music in your collection play it today and listen to the great music that still endures 50 years later.
rock on and keep rockin
