Gil Evgren

Hi Guys

I just wanted to share with you my love of fifties pin-up artist Gil Evgren. He did hundreds but I've just copied three below. I'd be interested to know what you think:







In many ways, Gil defined the image of the pin-up girl that still entertains and excites us. You can buy a set of his original playing cards on ebay.

Gil Elvgrins work is fantastic! I've got an old desk calendar with a new girl for every day - each one a stunner!

His work is absolutely phenominal, I can never get bored with looking at his artwork. I'm basing my next tattoo on one of his pieces, with some slight changes. Not sure if you can still get it, but I have a copy of the book 'Gil Elvgren - All His Glamorous American Pinups' (or something like that), it is almost like a collection of his life's work, through the stages in his career. Great book, fantastic to read or just flick through! Hundreds of images!

I love Gil's work, We have had his calendar every year for the last 5 years!

I saw they have two calendars out this year at the stalles that set up in the middle of the shopping centres

I will have to keep an eye out for them, it's that time again!
