Board track bike inspired bike build
Thought I'd post some pics of my latest project pushie. Decided to give it a makeover, inspired by old board track motorbikes from the 20s and 30s.
This is the bike when I first got it home (ebay score).
First thing was to do was ditch all of the ugly crap off it! Tried some apes for looks, but never ran them due to the apes not fitting the headset.
Cruising at CRAKK with Kid Setzer
So stripped her down
And started to attack it with the angle grinder with a wire brush attachment.
Ditched the ugly stem for a threadless stem convertor and a modern mountain bike stem
Even though I hadn't finished stripping the frame, I couldnt resist mocking it up
Starting to come together now, got the cream tyres and the new seat
Did some hand painted detailing. Blacked out the fully sic chainring...
...and the handlebar centre, the seat rails and the slither of the stem adaptor that shows
Took it into the city for its maiden voyage, worked out I did about 12km or so, wasn too bad with the bars, although it was a little wet!
Some better shots of the actual bike
