i AM WRITING TO TELL YOU SOME SAD NEWS THAT IS GORDON WALLER AN MEMBER OF THE UK SINGING DUO FROM THE 60'S PETER AND GORDON HAS DIED IN HOSPITAL IN CONNECTICUT,USA EARLY YESTERDAY MORNING AGED 64. tHE DUO WERE FORMED IN 1963-64 AND HAD THEIR FIRST HIT IN 1964 WITH A WORLD WITHOUT LOVE WHICH WAS WRITTEN BY JOHN LENNON AND PAUL MCCARTNEY AND WENT TO NO 1 IN THE USA,UK AND AUSTRALIA AND HAD MANY OTHER HITS LIKE NOBODY I KNOW, I DON'T WANT TO SEE YOU AGAIN, TRUE LOVE WAYS, WOMAN, LADY GODIVA,KNIGHT IN RUSTY ARMOUR AND OTHERS AND BROKE UP BY 1968. THEIR ONLY AUSTRALIAN TOUR WAS IN SEPTEMBER-OCTOBER 1964 WHICH THEY PLAYED IN BRISBANE ON OCTOBER 5TH 1964 AND ON THE BILL WERE DEL SHANNON, EDEN KANE,The Searchers, DINAH LEE AND RAY COLUMBUS AND THE INVADERS. IN 2005 THE DUO PERFORMED TOGETHER FOR A BENEFIT SHOW FOR THE LATE MIKE SMITH(tHE dAVE CLARK FIVE) AND HAD STARTED TO PERFORMED TOGETHER MAINLY IN THE USA IN THE LAST FEW YEARS. IT'S A BIG LOSS FOR THE MUSIC INDUSTRY BUT THE MUSIC WILL LIVE ON.
