Cliff richard and the shadows back together
Hi Friends
I am writing to say that UK singer Cliff Richard is getting back together with his former back up the SHadows which they are doing an tour of UK, Ireland and Europe which starts from September-November. Cliff richard came on the music scene 51 years ago with the back up band the drifters with Move it and is still making hits in 2009. the Drifters changed it's name to the shadows in 1959 as to avoid confusion with the american drifters who was formed in 1953 and back-up CLiff on many of his late 50's & 60's hits like Living Doll, please Don't Tease, Do you wanna dance, the young ones, summer Holiday and many others and the shadows came on the scene in 1960 with apache which was no 1 in the UK who went to make many hits including FBI, Wonderful land, Shindig, Guitar Tango,Dance On, foot tapper etc. The group has had very good musician including on drums TOny Meehan and Brian Bennett who replaced tony in 1961 just before the australian tour, Hank Marvin one of the best guitar players in the history of English rock'n'roll, Bruce welch on rhythm guitar and on Bass had jet harris(1958-62), Brian Locking(1962-63), john ROstill(1963-68) and even they had an Australian named John Farrar who was from the 60's group the strangers an group from melbourne which he joined the shadows in the 70's as well as fellow aussie alan tarney. i can imagine it should be great show and it's been said that it might come to australia early 2010 which if i read anything about it i will let you know.
