Models Wanted
I guess I'll introduce myself properly ..I'm Jane. Tea Birds is a very, very small clothing business in Brisbane/Gold Coast. What we produce is quite obvious if I'm in here...sort of. I have another wo-man working with me.
Anyway, on to business. I'm currently in my last year of tafe doing clothing production and designs. I've got this project to do where I have to sell my 'range' to any boutique store, with an interview with them, along with my garments modelled. I need at least 3 models for this and I don't want to use the tafe models 'cause they wouldn't suit to type of clothes I'm trying to sell..Plus orange fake tans doesn't cut it for me. After that interview, there will be a photoshoot, I'm hoping a friend will help me out with the photography and we get to use to tafe photography rooms, which are amazing by the way. This is to help my future portfolio and such.
So, if you're interested let me know as soon as you can, so I can't give you details on when it will happen and such.
Oh! And we have to go by standard Australian size 10.
Bust: 87cm
Waist: 68-70cm
Hips: 98 - 100cm
Thanks heaps.

Whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat?! I was surely that you'd be a standard size 10 or even smaller.

Awww my waist is apparently an inch smaller. *shrug* I generally wear a size 10 but you know how clothing sizing standards is these days. I wear a size 6 at Portmans. Bahahaha. What a joke.

Damn I'm out too :S
Drea I have so many different portmans sizes! They're so irregular.

Re: Models Wanted
Pooooooo!!! >.< This is why I don't like these "standard" sizes. Not everyones perfect. And I know that tafe models would be under the measurements. Grr. End rant.
But then again, some of my outfits won't have hip measurements...And I'm pretty sure if you're near those measurements it should be ok. I just have to do some sessions into do fits..I think...I might negotiate this with my teacher.
Alternatively, if you know someone within those measurements, that would help too.

Re: Models Wanted
Jane, where abouts are you based?
If some of the models are able to come around for fittings they might just work
I know I can shrink my size with enough pulling & squeezing into corsets & those body suits.
Just an idea.

Re: Models Wanted
Mmm yes corsets. the magic they work. I can lose a good 3 - 4 inches off my waist and upper hips with mine. Muahaha.
Also ... I think my bust has gone down an inch *cries*

I'm currently living in Brisbane. Every now and again I'm on the Gold Coast visiting my parents and such.
I looked at my criteria sheet properly and it said that the standard size should be
Bust: 87cm
Waist: 68-70cm
Hips: 98 - 100cm
This made me a little happier.
I'm keen on doing the fittings if the body measurements are close to the criteria..thing.
But I think I have to do this in class time.
Haha, that's a good idea..In a way. Wearing corsets. Teachers won't have to know anything of it.

wow, now I'm even more confounded. You look so slender, and yet you have 38 inch hips like me .... but I feel like I've got HUUUUUUGE humungo thighs. So strange how that all works. I guess it's because I'm shorter???

Re: Models Wanted
Nah - my weight has all gone to my hips! I hate my thighs.. I suppose all of my dresses are relatively flowing & loose at the hips so I never really show how wide they are
Jami Deadly is an amazing 36-24-38.. must shrink waist by 4 inches!

You're like 1cm off from the bust and waist...You can so easily suck that in. Also, your hips are smaller than the requirements. Again, most of my outfits don't show hips.
Heehee, I'll give you guys a hint in what I'll be involved.
It's fake by the way..

Re: Models Wanted
Whoa I thought that Ice-cream thing was real. NO WAY THAT IT'S FAKE. Looks yummy.
Oh and theo, you're a dude! Your measurements don't count!
36 - 24 - 38 eh? How did I get stuck with a 35 measurement that has somehow gone down to 35/34. And how on EARTH does she have such a tiny waist. She must be lying Meherher. Oh ..... but gawd! Doris Mayday, her waist/hip ratio is insane. I asked her if she waist trained but she didn't reply.
Seriously, they MUST be waist training. How else do they do it?! Personally I think waist exercises are a load of bollocks, but apparently that's what that 50's Australian model (I forget her name, had a romance with Gregory Peck) claimed to have done. She had an 18 inch waist!!! *faints*

Re: Models Wanted
I think it's all in the waist training.. my Grandmother still never leaves the house without pulling her waist in & many many layers of clothing.
She lives down south so it's not too bad.. I suppose our excuse can be that we'd die of heat!!

Well back in the day they had all those girdles and waist cinchers and stuff huh? Good ol' shapewear. My vintage girdle does wonders on my hips and waist. Only problem is is suspender hooks which you can see if you wear a tight skirt! I'm thinking about getting one of those triump high waisted skirt shapers though. They really make your skirt sit so much nicer!
I'd love to waist train, but currently my rib piercings are in the way. They do ok being squished for a day but I'm not so sure otherwise :\ I can't bring myself to cut them out. Even though my boyfriend HATES them. Haha. After 3 years they're still novel to me. And they still freak people out
You're right though. Wearing a training corset during summer would be awful. Darn heat!

Re: Models Wanted
I would also say that they would train it. I've got a corset that's suppose to train my waist, but I just CBF'd putting it on everyday..
PFFT! Waist exercise...What a load of shit.
Another idea would be to take off the bottom ribs....Yes, they weren't insane back then....

Yeah, super late reply, but ditto with the portmans sizes. Its SO annoying! I usually find their sizes to be huge, sometimes even a six hangs off me. Which is a joke, I'm not THAT small.
Maybe if I filled out a bit I could fit in a size 10. I'm 31"-25"-30". I like inches over cm, it makes you feel smaller!

i saw that pic of you on a holden, i wouldn't of picked you to have those piercings but they look really awesome! adam hates surface piercings too but when he least expects it i'm gonna get my nape done rahaha.
Re: Models Wanted
Yeah in high school I was really big on piercings but couldn't get any on my face because of work and couldn't get my nipples done because I was underage. but I'm glad I didn't because those piercings don't appeal to me at all anymore. Besides I love my rib ones. I'm amazed I still think they're awesome. Probably because they're unobtrusive, unique and don't pose ongoing problems like some other (surface) piercings do.
Take a photo of adam's reaction when you get it. Haha. He can't get too angry. I mean unlike a tattoo you can always opt out of a piercing when you choose to (or when your body chooses to, hah)
Oh and for the record, I did buy one of those triumph skirt shapers. It's Awesome. I love it. My wiggle skirts are kick arse now.
