Re: TIKI LOWBROW ART SHOW/COMP
Hey Kat! Finally made it to Thunderbird Park on the weekend! But I didn't trust mum to get us there on horse back again (last time she got us lost on Mt Tamborine) so we drove there instead The food was good, a little pricey but it's not the kind of place you'd eat at every weekend so it's aiiiight.. Mum and I are gonna go back in a few weeks and do the mining I wants me a thunder egg!
I'm definately coming to G-BAG this year - especially if Marcus is gonna do his tiki thang
Also I think what Lolly was saying is there is a portable tiki bar company in Sydney called 'The Lava Lounge'

Re: TIKI LOWBROW ART SHOW/COMP
Oh and question - does the art need to be specifically influenced by tiki or can it just be lowbrow in general?
Re: TIKI LOWBROW ART SHOW/COMP

I WILL be coming this year! The only reason why I didnt come last year is because I thought it was like HOURS away from where I lived but after passing it to get to Thunderbird Park it's only about 40mins so thats doable..
Haha yeah last time mum and I parked the horse float at the bottom of Mt Tamborine and we were planning to ride up it to get to Thunderbird Park... we never got there

Re: TIKI LOWBROW ART SHOW/COMP
Hewey, chase up Marcus for an entry form, it states you can enter 3 pieces.
Re: TIKI LOWBROW ART SHOW/COMP
I'm retarded.
I didn't even think to get the entry form first or look at the details closer.
I just spent hours and hours and hours and hours doing a pastel piece, when you're meant to do a painting, pin striping or sculpture.
Baaahh I'm such an idiot. Do you think I could get in on the grounds of it being a 'pastel painting'? They do call it that o.o

Re: TIKI LOWBROW ART SHOW/COMP
Hmmm, I wouldn't have thought they'd be that anal about paintings being paint only..
Yeah, deadline was last friday.. but Marcus is a nice guy, maybe if you contact him and deliver it to him personally within this week he may still accept it.. worth a try

Oh Drea! That's why you're meant to read entry forms FIRST!!! But yeah, Marcus may still accept it if you get it to him this week.. also if they have a low amount of entries then he may extend that deadline, just for you

Really - my painting are never just paint! .. though I'd still call them paintings.
I like to incorporate all sorts of bits & bobs into my work.
Though I wouldn't call any of it remotely 'tiki' - not game to try it out
Re: TIKI LOWBROW ART SHOW/COMP
Drea, get onto Marcus asap, Im sure your Pastel will still be accepted.
Re: TIKI LOWBROW ART SHOW/COMP
It looks like it's all going to be ok! *happy again*
Oh I'm so glad. I actually cried when I found out there was a deadline and that I had missed it. Because I'm a complete sook like that. Hahaha.

Hehe well I understand.. you spent so long on it so for it to be not accepted because you missed the deadline would absolutly suck!
Re: TIKI LOWBROW ART SHOW/COMP
