Fifties Fair in Wahroonga - Sunday, August 21
IMOGEN Hubber is the girl to beat in the best-dressed competition at this Sunday’s Fifties Fair in Wahroonga. Imogen, 22, won last year's contest and is geared up for a repeat performance.
Imogen loves to transform herself into a fifties siren. “It probably takes an hour-and-a-half to do hair and make-up,” she says, “There are so many young people who are into the fifties scene,” she said. “The TV show Mad Men really put the fashion on the map.”

At this Sunday’s fair, you can bop to The Drey Rollan Band, hot rock ‘n’ roller Paulie Bignell and a crew of rockabilly dancers.

Well worth a look if you've never been. We've been the last couple of years but will give the crowds a miss this year

$25 seems a bit steep...

If you love all kinds of 50s stuff its reasonable value. The vintage car display is only a handful of cars, there's some good market stalls if you like fashion and retro bric a brack, but when its so crowded its hard to take them in properly. The house is awesome if you're into mid century modern design, but again with so many people there it can be hard to take in. The last couple of years we've probably spent 1-2 hours there? There's also a stage with bands, fashion parades etc but seated viewing spots for that are at a premium and go pretty quick.
