Fashion - It's a Riot!
Identical Melbourne twins Sarah and Louise Kayler-Thomson are making a big splash amongst the psycho-rockabilly fashionistas. They began their own label - Riotville - in 2008 and haven't looked back since.
“It’s something that we’ve always wanted to do,” Louise says, “We’ve always had a love of fashion and drawing and designing.”
Riotville combines both their interests perfectly with Louise leaning towards the psycho punk end of the spectrum and Sarah leaning more towards Retro and Rockabilly styles. “It’s a blend of the two things,” Louise explains.
The girls are focussing their marketing efforts at online selling. “At the moment we’re only selling online because that seems to the way of the future,” Louise says, “We also make absolutely everything ourselves. We design it, we make the patterns and we sew it together.”
Riotville will be showing off their designs as part of the Fashion Awards Australia - but meanwhile, you can look them up here:
