Atomic Bomb Industries located in the Inner West, not far from Sydney's Central Business District, looks like a good place to hang out and chew the beef. The workshop in St Peters restores old cars and motorbikes, sells them at reasonable prices, and also has a retail shop, showroom, bar and barbershop.

Owner Drew Chilcott says it's going to be more than just a workshop. “We just want this place to be a low-key, cool hang out on a summer’s day.”

Drew's spent weeks setting up shop, which has a grand opening on Sunday, October 24. “Being involved in cars in the hot rod scene, I started to see a turn where people were building cars and bikes and taking it away from normal people,” he explains, “It’s unfair for everyone else who doesn’t have the time, knowledge or money. We’re not doing chrome parts or candy-coloured paint jobs, just a bare bones everyday drive.”

The 1950s-style barbershop is for men only and specialises in straight razor shaves and quiffs.

I'd hang there myself if the drive back and forth didn't take a whole day and a 3rd of my pay , my own local barber still does period style cuts cleaned up with a straight razor, so while Sharpies open i'll never waste a coin elsewhere.
