Re: my new toy
Got some new sills for the ol gal now thats the only rust in her so I'm stoked so will be taking to her with the gas axe very shortly. Got the whitewall flappers as well they're getting fitted monday and being the impatient bugger I am can't wait to get around to 2 packin the wheels red so just gonna whack on a set of plymouth satelite caps I have sittin in the shed and I'll paint up the wheels when I paint the car, also seriously thinkin about mudflaps suggestion for a lace job on the roof
I 'll whack up some pics next week also slippin in a cd player on monday as well it's killin me cruzin with no tunes

Re: my new toy
Well you would think getting whitewall flappers fitted would be a simple enough task wouldn't ya?
Well I thought so too. and I was WRONG
Made a booking for 9 at Beaurepairs to get em fitted 45 mins later the dude walks out and goes "cant do em" When I ask why he says they wont stay in keep comin out when I inflate em, so a little pissed I leave and ring Rod to see who fitted the ones on his Vauxhall and he directs me to Bob Jane at Campbelltown so I ring the dudes, tell them the other guys couldn't fit em and they say no worries mate bring her down and we'll whack em on for ya. SWEET well so I think.
An hour later I lob back and Bob Jane and there's the Val looking al pretty in her new white shoes so I'm a happy boy, ok temporarily happy.
Cruising back along the freeway doing about 70 mph and I hear a very loud RATATATTAT so I pull over and yep on of the whitewalls has let go and as you can imagine at 70MPH the poor old flapper's not looking to good,I rip the last couple of cm still hanging onto the rim off chuck it in the val and continue home after a couple of words not suitable for printing on here.
So now need to get another bloody flapper and I'm sure I will have to buy a whole other set.
Then I take the new cd player from the box and have a look at the wiring and see leads for mute, remotes, power antennas and think what ever happened to the days when it was just a power wire and earth wire and 4 speakers and decided I'm not in the frame of mind for complicated electronics after my 4 hour whitewall debarcle so for now the stereo can wait.
Here's a few pics of the old girl with 3 nice new shoes
