Very Happy Smile Cool Laughing Hi Again Friends,
How are you all? hope you are all well. I am writing to say that this year is 50 years when the Australian pop music show Bandstand commeneced on Channel 9 and it began on november 1st 1958 which it would last for nearly 14 years as it finished in 1972. The show was hosted by brian Henderson an Kiwi born Sydney newsreader and it was created by bruce gyngell an executive for channel 9 which it was our version of the American bandstand which was hosted by Dick Clark. the show launched careers of many australian performers who went to bigger things like Col Joye, Judy Stone, lana Cantrell, Patsy Ann(now trishia) Noble, the Dekroo Brothers(doug now plays in an rockabilly group called Lonesome Train who plays @ Wintersun), Sandy Scott, Peter Allen, the Bee gees, the Delltones, Frank ifield, little Pattie, Dig Richards, Johnny Devlin, and many others. If you or your parents have memories of watching Bandstand feel free to send me a message
