Kit Kats Journal Empty Re: Kit Kats Journal

Post by My Little Rockabilly Kat Fri Dec 12, 2008 3:39 am

Friday 12th december 10.58am mood: kats life is a mega rollercoaster but it will be afro cool...one day

I have gained all respect back from my parents, and im happy to say they love me again, because i made a life changing decision to move on with my career and life independently..and i now have amazing support behind me for when i need them.
When im upset ..they are too..they worry about me constantly..this time i will be in safe hands.

I am at the moment getting ready to sell on the weekend, i have to make alot of stuff, because sales on the internet during xmas is full on!
All i can do is save save save, so i can kick start this organic makeup line, packaging and ingredients and marketing will cost alot of bikkies.

For wintersun i have big plans for my shop setup, a brand in america called 'jessica louise clothing' she is my top inspiration, she has market stalls at punk shows etc and she makes the stall look like a proper shop..with walls, photos on the walls a table in the middle clothing racks a jewellery stand..i want mine to be like that, with a hard checker floor. I think at the moment my stall dosent look unique..i want it to be so cool people take photos of it, or just can't leave, makes me chuffed for the work i've put into it, and hopefully they will buy lotsa gear!
Last wintersun, i left with barely anything a couple of hair flowers, my tables and stands and thats about it. So next year i will have a shop completly to myself..i will have to make 4 times as much stock as last time.. stall costs for wintersun for the 3 days is $400.00, sure its well worth it, it gets my name out there and i have fun! Most people travel from afar to go to wintersun, i met so many people i now keep in contact with over the net, and ive made friendships for life.

Haha look how web obsessed I've become lately. I wrote 'upload' instead on 'unload'

It'd be tricky, but I'm sure you'd find a way of doing it Kitty Kat.

Why do you hate the Fairmont so much?? It's cool, just needs to be lower with a bit of Kate 'flair' thrown into it, like a high flake roof job or something....

Jamie and I probably have the same idea..... air bag it!!!!
You could do the hoodlining in hair bows.... do the hoodlining in angle hair first, then just attach the hair bows to the angle hair, and pull them off as you sell em!!! Wicked!

You could leave it to Jamie, me and Peter, but Katrina would kill you for not having any input into YOUR CAR, ask her about not being able to have input on building YOUR CAR next time you see her.... That's what happened with her coupe.... You think I'm allowed to redo the Caddy without her input??? Think AGAIN.....!

Ahaha we're TWINS in what we want to do.

Wouldn't also mind being an auto mechanic. But for old cars though. I think the new cars would drive me bonkers with their stupid computer chips and stuff. Employer would also have to deal with me wearing gloves, because I look at the ingrained grease in Matt's hand and know I could NEVER stay sane if I was to be that dirty. I've seen the Mechanics for Lexus and they use gloves and they're clean as. Spiffy.

Motor trimmer would be awesome Kat and Drea!
White tuck n roll all the way!
Wearing gloves, where's the fun in that Drea??!! But I can understand, cleaning grease out of your fingernails and thumbprints etc can be very difficult, especially when you've been elbow deep in the stuff all day!
You should both hurry up and do your apprenticeships, the Caddy will need a new interior soon, white tuck n roll.....

Having been a spanner wanker, I sugest you look in to it very deaply before jumping in, I'm not saying its a bad job, I loved it, I started out on cars then moved over to BIG stuff, but the job is not as "cool" as you would think after 40" up to your arm pits in crap it looses its coolness as far as career development goes its as good as you make it, Ive done a number of different thigns off my trade, form sales, product support and now managment all positions that my trade opend the door for.

As for new cars pft, there all the same they all work on the suck squeeze bang blow theory the computers and stuff are jsut an ad on and no where near as scary as people would have you make out you just need to know the systems limitations, and the electronics in cars is pretty simple and stupid for a mass produced market start looking in to what makes a big bit of industrial gear tick and your startign to get a little tricky buty even then the new stuff is so much better than what was produces ten years ago

Gloves, these were laughed at when I started my trade, now days they are almost common place, Ive never worn them but I think had I started whereing them when I started wanking spanners it wouldnt have been a problem but now as I dont do it every day (I only play wiht my own cars now) I find it hard to start wareing them

Well in regards to gloves, I think I'd be cut a LOT of slack simply being a girl. And don't worry I know what it's like to be covered in crap, transmission fluid, dirt, grease, exhaust cement and all kinds of shit all over my clothes, in my hair, on my face. It's the cleaning off bit I don't like. Scrubbing the grease off my hands takes well over half and hour and leaves my skin red raw. My skin wouldn't be able to handle that on a daily basis.

I'm not jumping into anything just yet because I'm still very unsure about what I want to do. I need to investigate it all properly. At the moment I'm saving to do a fashion design course at TAFE because I really feel I need to learn something soon and sewing would be a fantastic life skill to have. Meanwhile I need to work on getting my license. So who knows what I'll end up doing *shrugs*.

Hello All..Ive decided to attempt to do some more art..its not a big thing with me i just do it occasionally
i sell my jewellery to a shop in the valley called tiger rag. they are a retro swing reproduction store
when they were setting up the shop they were talking about wanting some art of the walls to brighten up the place, so i voluntered to do some..and it all sold..photographs and canvas's they were as suprised as i was.
So that is my new years thing to do! whats everyones new years resolution? ive decided to find a part time job with doing something that isnt to do with this culture..man there are some rockabilly nazi's out there..calm down and let people do what they want. No
Me and my family are about to book our flights to the states for early april, we will be going to the viva las vegas rockabilly weekend and hopefully i can get some stockists whilst im there. wallmart here i come! 9.99 rod shirts all in time for wintersun.
I have been thinking about going into business with the black fridays (kustom kulture shop in west end briz)
They are above nandos..so that means stairs and no street frontage and walkers..they rely on word of mouth.
An awesome shop its huge has become available just down the road, closer to where greazefest is held.
Its all just being talked about at the moment, but with the trip to the states i will have my stock for the shop.
I Wish all a happy new year and i will talk to you soon
xx kat
