yeh mate so far im going black seats in marine vinyl, its the old etch type vinyl like in the early holdens. with a white piping around the edges to break it up and outline the seats. Im hoping it will give it a bit of a cartoon effect.
i guess roof lining will be black and the crash pad. Il get the seats in and go from there.

Re: The HZ Project
Go with a white roof lining. makes the car feel really closed in when you go dark. espesially with such a large roof area

Re: The HZ Project
thats a good idea actually, thanks. and with black pinch weld it would outline the lining to match the seats.

On the inside or the outside?? If the inside, go for it. If the outside, i wouldn't. Car will look awesome and very clean all the one colour with the chrome. i think a spiderweb would ruin it.

Re: The HZ Project
um not much progress to show mate, decided on a VN lsd diff after some advice from aussie diffs at currumbin. its about the same width and doesnt need much persuasion to slide it in.
Ive mounted the larger alloy radiator in and run some wiring through from the back end to a distribution block and to the alternator and starter as im running the battery in the boot.
I need to take some pics of the sound system ive baught and put em up too

my only concern with the wiring there is the heat from the exhaust, the headers are ceramic coated but the wiring runs pretty close to the headers so i might have to cover them up in exhaust wrap or sumthing.

Re: The HZ Project
Good choice with the VN diff. I put one in the Tonner, along with the 5 Lt and the auto, awesome diff. cant break it and its a good ratio. i Ground all the VN mounts off it here and they only charged 150 to jig it up and weld the leaf mounts on.
With the wiring, im pretty sure there is a heat sleeve you can get for the wiring close to the headers. will look a lot better than wrapping the exhaust.
Cheers

Re: The HZ Project
Yeh that would be a sweet conversion.
im looking into the sleeving atm. I was gonna use the header wrap on the wiring not on the headers. The headers should be alot cooler than normal with the HPC on them anyway so i might see how it goes.
The wagon is coil rear so i might grind the inner arm brackets off and weld up the new ones myself. Now i just gotta get the diff.....

Re: The HZ Project
Thanks pinup65. Simple is sometimes the better option, and u cant get much simpler than a straight 6.
Ive scored a diff too lewey. vn, ss, lsd, 3.08 ratio. Il leave it disk rear end, and il just pull the residual valve out of the master cylinder.
I got the seats back and mounted the rears in.
Il pull it back out to do sumthing with all the alloy trimming round the edges. Ive just started playing with the loom, ive got a few alterations to make with the different dash cluster going in.
